Our Mission Statement
Persian Cultural Center Inc. / Iranian Community School was founded in 1986. As a non-profit, non-political, educational entity we are dedicated to the language, culture, history, literature, music, and art of Iran for the young and adult residents of the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area.
Our organization is formed under Section 501(c)3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code; non-profit- non-political organization.
It is our mission to make every family welcome, and part of our Persian School family. Our team, not only teaches language and celebrates Iranian culture but also, we strive to provide a community that stands for teamwork. We aim to create a positive and fulfilling environment in which we are respectful of individuals and all cultural backgrounds.
Our purpose is for the school to be a pillar for Iranian culture and to establish a sanctuary for Iranian-American students and parents.
It is our privilege to be part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and try to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.
History of Iranian Community School
Through the untiring efforts of founder Mrs. Deyhimi, the Iranian Community School started its activity in spring of 1986. The first Persian language classes were given in her home with just two students.The enrollment quickly grew to six, then sixteen after just six months of classes.
She then moved the classes from her home to Pimmit Hill Center of Fairfax County, then to St. Luke Church in McLean and then to Emmaus United Church of Christ in Vienna and finally to our current location in 311 Maple Avenue in Vienna. The school has greatly expanded its activities to meet the needs of its students. Now, the Iranian Community School is in the enviable position of demand exceed available space and potential expansion in its current site.The organization is formed under Section 501(c)3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Any donation (not tuition) is tax-deductible as a charitable contributions to the extent allowed by law.
